Gee…you don’t look gay

20 years from now when someone asks me where was I when I heard the news about Michael Jackson - I will say I was at work, texting with my girlfriend. We both had watched it unfold on the internet and I was glued to cnn.com - when tmz reported his death first, we both kept texting each other saying no way - that we wouldn’t believe it until someone more reliable reported it

and then someone did, and I just sat there sad. I was already a tad blue over the passing of Farrah - I mean she was a major icon and the lust filled object of affection for many a young boy and closeted young lesbian (as a side note, I think her death has for the most part been ignored and I find that sad)

my sadness of Michael Jackson’s passing over the last few days has turned in to anger over societies hypocrisy. Sure he was planning this huge sell out comeback concert series in London - but to most people he was still a freak, still a pedophile…still whacko jacko

and he died and now she is this legend, a saint, and a musical icon

why did he have to die for people to suddenly do a 360 on their opinion of him?

I personally never paid a lot of attention to his personal troubles - everyone’s got issues, and some are just weirder than others. I always thought he was brilliant, just a very troubled man. I grew up listening to the thriller album on cassette tape (god remember those?) - and everyone in the 4th grade had the red vinyl jackets, sequined glove - just all of it. Everyone wanted to be him.

25 years later…no one even wanted to admit they liked his music

and like I said - then he dies, and hypocrisy comes out full force - and I’m just disgusted
